General Plan
Most of the way that I will keep track of student work is through student portfolios, student writing files, and the following different forms for the different area of the writing curriculum.
Conferences
Students will use this form to take their own notes and idea for future goals during conferences.
Teachers will use this form to take notes on conferences and communicate with parents about their students writing.
Topics to Write About
Students will use picture prompts such as this when they get stuck for extra ideas.
Teachers will use this list of prompts to guide journal writing every day (Journal Writing Prompts )
Topics Written About
Students will fill out this form to keep track of topics they have written about, then the teacher will look at these to track progress of students (Effective Teaching Strategies)

Skills Mastered
Student sheet to monitor writing skills and practices
Teacher check list for master of skills. In this example the teacher used it for math however it would easily convert for writing to track progress in different area of writing (thecuriouscatfish).
Additional Records
This will be used by both teachers and student to track writing progress and stage of students (Fain).
